According to Apple Music on the 24th, BTS's albums ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life’ trilogy and ‘LOVE YOURSELF’ series have been exclusively released in Dolby Atmos-based spatial sound versions. Apple Music subscribers can now enjoy the iconic songs that have made BTS a global sensation with even more vivid sound. It is explained that listeners can experience the intricate details that were easily missed in the original stereo tracks in a three-dimensional way.
The ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life’ trilogy, released between 2015 and 2016, is a series that elevated BTS to international stardom, capturing the most beautiful yet anxious moments of youth and receiving great love. The ‘LOVE YOURSELF’ series, which began in 2017, completes BTS's worldview with the message of ‘how to love oneself’ and is regarded as a representative work that once again proves their global cultural influence.
Yang Ga, the engineer from HYBE Studio responsible for this spatial sound mix, stated through Apple Music, “The key to the Dolby Atmos mix work is to delicately layer the spatial expansion of sound while maintaining the original stereo image and balance as much as possible.” He emphasized, “While increasing the focus on the lead vocals, I designed it so that the details of the background vocals and ad-lib vocals are clearer, allowing each vocal layer to be distinctly separated. Fans will be able to discover new sound layers and depth within familiar songs.”
Yang Ga continued, “If you pay attention to the separation between vocals, the distance between instruments, and the three-dimensional expression of space, you will experience an emotional resonance different from the original song,” adding, “While maintaining the stereo balance and image, the sound is expanded deeper and wider, making the lead vocals clearer, and the background and ad-lib vocals come alive with a sense of space, creating a new emotional contrast.”
