CORTIS is making waves again on the US Billboard main chart, continuing its unstoppable rise as a 'Best New Artist of the Year'.
According to US music media Billboard on the 2nd (KST), CORTIS's debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ re-entered the main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ at 121 as of December 6 (KST). Following its re-entry at 171 on the October 25 (KST) chart, thanks to local activities in the US in October, it has once again returned to the chart, proving its solid popularity.
Since its debut, various activities such as performances at award shows, self-produced content ranging from long-form to mid-form, and appearances on fashion magazine covers have led to an influx of new fandoms, driving the rise in rankings. This album previously entered the ‘Billboard 200’ at 15 on September 27 (KST) and remained on the chart for two weeks. This is the highest performance among K-Pop group debut albums, excluding project teams, and the highest ranking among Korean boy groups that debuted in the last four years. It has showcased its presence as a 'global major rookie' under Big Hit Music, following BTS and Tomorrow X Together.
‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ recorded 14th place on the ‘Top Album Sales’ chart, which counts physical album sales in the US, and 13th place on the ‘Top Current Album Sales’ chart, climbing 30 and 19 spots respectively from the previous week. It also secured 4th place on the ‘World Albums’ chart, rising 3 spots.
The album sales performance is also remarkable. Within about three months of its release, it surpassed 1.06 million copies in cumulative sales according to Circle Chart, becoming the only debut album million-seller among rookies who debuted this year. On the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, it surpassed 200 million cumulative streams as of November 27 (KST), proving both popularity and topicality.
CORTIS is also leaving a strong presence at year-end award ceremonies. At the ‘2025 MAMA AWARDS’ held at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on the 28th-29th of last month (KST), they won the ‘Best New Artist’ award, which is equivalent to the rookie award. The stage video they presented has garnered significant attention, ranking 4th in views among this year's award ceremony videos posted on the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel as of 6 AM (KST) on the 3rd.
