BTS's Jungkook has set another milestone as a K-Pop solo artist by gracing the global cover of the iconic music magazine Rolling Stone.
This project marks the first collaboration between the UK, Korean, and Japanese editions of Rolling Stone, with a simultaneous global cover release. The digital edition will be unveiled in a total of 8 countries, including Brazil, China, France, India, and the Philippines. In the UK, Korea, and Japan, separate print editions featuring different exclusive cover images will also be released.
Rolling Stone Japan is set to release Volume 33, which includes a 24-page photo spread and interview with Jungkook, on December 25, with pre-orders for the Japanese edition starting from December 1. The final three cover images are expected to be revealed on December 8.
In the teaser images currently released, Jungkook is drawing attention with a bold reinterpretation of his outfit from New York Fashion Week as a Calvin Klein ambassador. He has daringly unbuttoned his shirt to emphasise a sexy mood, showcasing his presence as a global fashion icon.
This is not the first time Jungkook has collaborated with Rolling Stone. BTS became the first K-Pop group to grace the cover of Rolling Stone in 2021, and RM became the first K-Pop solo artist to be featured as a cover model in 2023. With this Rolling Stone UK cover, Jungkook continues this legacy while adding the title of the first K-Pop solo cover star for the UK edition.
Fans are expressing their enthusiastic reactions on social media, stating, "Jungkook is the global pop icon itself," and "The collaboration of Rolling Stone UK, Korea, and Japan exists for Jungkook's level." Particularly, regarding this teaser styling based on his New York Fashion Week outfit, comments such as "He has become sexier," and "An artist who possesses fashion, music, and star quality" are resonating, reaffirming Jungkook's global stature once again.
