TWICE's first unit MISAMO is reaching a new peak in their local activities with their first Japanese full-length album 'PLAY'. As the title track name is unveiled, global fans' anticipation is also rising.
The agency JYP Entertainment revealed the tracklist and concept photos for MISAMO's first Japanese album 'PLAY' through TWICE's official Japanese channel on November 27. The album is set to be released in Japan on February 4 next year.
In the released photos, Mina, Sana, and Momo showcase a charisma that coexists with strength and softness. Through their glamorous yet luxurious styling, relaxed poses, and gazes directed at the camera, they emphasize the mature mood unique to the unit, and the different atmospheres of the three members blend naturally to capture attention.
The first full-length album 'PLAY' includes the title track 'Confetti', along with unit songs such as 'Hmm', 'Not a Goodbye', 'Deep Eden', 'Red Diamond', and 'Catch My Eye'. Additionally, Momo's solo track 'Kitty', Sana's 'Ma Cherry', and Mina's 'Turning Tables' showcase each member's individuality, resulting in a rich composition encompassing a total of 12 tracks.
Notably, this album also features songs that represent MISAMO's journey, including the title track of the mini album 2 'Identity', debut song 'Do not touch', and 'Message'. The tracks 'Catch My Eye' and 'Red Diamond', which were pre-released during the recent Japanese dome tour 'MISAMO JAPAN DOME TOUR 2024 “HAUTE COUTURE”' and received positive responses from fans, are also included in the tracklist, allowing fans to officially own songs that were previously only heard at the concert.
The first full-length album 'PLAY' is the final chapter of a trilogy project that follows the debut mini album 'Masterpiece' released in July 2023 and the mini album 2 'HAUTE COUTURE' released in November 2024. The signature worldview and the concept of 'mature elegance' that MISAMO has built through these three works are expected to reach their peak in this album.
TWICE unit MISAMO, consisting of Mina, Sana, and Momo, officially debuted with their first mini album 'Masterpiece' in July 2023. Since their debut, they have proven their strong local impact by dominating major Japanese charts such as Oricon, Billboard Japan, and Tower Records with every album they have released.
Additionally, based on the mini album 2 'HAUTE COUTURE', their Japanese dome tour attracted over 250,000 audiences with a total of 6 performances, leaving a significant record of 'successful dome tour' despite being a debut unit.
